I Do Not Want to Get Sick {Now I’m Juicing}

i do not want to get sick so i'm juicingI do not want to get sick. Everyone around me is falling to either the flu, bronchitis, slipped discs, arthritis, you name it… I am in a cesspool of sick and dilapidated people.

HELP!

Right after Christmas, my husband got sick, and he coughed and coughed and coughed. He finally went to Urgent Care where he was given Steroids and Z-pack. I did not want to get sick so, I did what any normal person who does not want to get sick does…

I ordered a juicer.

I know there are vitamins I can take, but I wanted to try juicing what vitamins my body needs and see if I would ward off the ailments that surround me. I’ve researched all sorts of combinations to try for immunity, prevention of inflammation, gut health, diabetes, and good aging skin. I am on a mission to learn all there is to know about juicing.

Ironically, I don’t buy or drink juice – never have, but this just seemed like a good idea. My children never had juice as they grew up, except for the occasional orange juice when sick. Now. I am juicing oranges on the daily, and oh my word, what an amazing difference.

My favorite juice has been an Immunity Ginger Shot that I saw on Instagram. I started it the day I got the juicer and have made a shot for myself and my husband every day since. I’ve also juiced beets and many other brand-new-to-me veggies. Some are amazing and some taste like dirt, but I am learning.

I’m a juicing queen now.

As I type, everyone in my office is sick but my husband and me. It was a joke in our office, they mocked my juicer when I shared in a staff meeting that I got one, and now my husband and I are the last two standing.

I’m going to keep juicing. I do not want to get sick.

I am a Buckeye by birth, but LOVE Louisville. We have cheered for those Louisville Cardinals for a few years when my stepdaughter played basketball in Louisville and fell in love with the city! I live in Ohio with my husband Tony. Together we have 6 kids, Joe, and his wife Allison, Austin, and his wife Hannah, Sydney and her husband Hayden, Andrew and his wife Lauren and our littles, Max and Eli. Did I mention we are a little nuts starting over with this parenting thing when we are 45+? We are officially a Tiki and Jeep (our version of Grandma and Grandpa) since May of 2022 and have 2 grandsons with a 3rd on the. My husband and I are both ministers, and we get to work together in a local church. We were both married before and brought our families together in 2010. After a few years of marriage, we felt God's leading for us to adopt. We added Max to our family in 2014 and Eli joined us in 2017, our quiver is officially full! Blending our family has been an adventure! Add some ex-spouses and two birth mommas and we have ourselves a crazy crew! Coffee is my love language. The beach is my happy place and I long to have my toes in the sand.
