Thank you so much to Kentucky Kingdom for treating our family to this experience! As always, the views expressed herein our entirely our own.

pumpkins at kentucky kingdom fall spooky season must-do in louisvilleHave we got a Louisville fall and spooky season must-do for you! Pumpkins At Kentucky Kingdom Presented by Humana is happening this year from September 26 – October 26th, and we got a first peek at it to bring you our Louisville Mom’s review.

You probably already saw them featured in our Fall Fun guide this year, but trust us – it’s even better in person. I grew up going to Kentucky Kingdom, especially during my teen years, and have some of my best memories there. Once thing I did not do was the special festivals. Being able to bring my own family there now for our favorite time of year was magical.

“Where Families Come To Discover Fun!”

pumpkins at kentucky kingdom fall spooky season must-do in louisvilleHave a glowing good time at their 4th annual fall festival – we did! Look forward to over 1,000 bright orange pumpkins appearing all over the park and featuring larger-than-life pumpkin sculptures glowing at night. Plus, explore fall-themed fun like games, street performances, and colorful characters. Take fall family fun to a new level this year!

Before you even walk through the gates, there are fantastic photo op spots. These continue all throughout the park. They were handing out trick-or-treat bags when you first came on and then had “Candy Stop” stations all over for the kids to fill those bags. We saw several kiddos – and parents – dressed up in their Halloween costumes, and you could buy bubble wands and light-up pumpkin headbands (got myself one of those!). We watched the magic show, which was really good! There’s something for all ages to enjoy.

Pumpkins at Kentucky Kingdom Tasting Passport

The Pumpkins Tasting Passport is an incredible deal for only $29.99 ($27.99 for season passholders), which includes four seasonal menu items per passport, per person. Choose your items all throughout the park at Bloom’s BBQ, Bluegrass Bakery, Casa Mia, Clock Tower Treats, Pop’s, Treats & Eats, Twisted, and Woodland Snacks. Each Passport will save you over $15! There are entree items, sides, snacks, desserts, and drinks to mix-and-match.

The kids got the Mac & Cheese with Smoked Sausage from Bloom’s BBQ, the Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Baked Potato from Casa Mia (they didn’t know it came with bleu cheese so they picked that part off!), Pumpkin Hand-Dipped Ice Cream (they weren’t a fan but a good one for mom!), and Funnel Cake Fries from Woodland Snacks. They couldn’t go to a theme park without begging us to get them some cotton candy as well!

Play Days & Glow Nights

Play by day and glow by night during Pumpkins at Kentucky Kingdom! We got there early afternoon, and it all felt like a charming fall festival. After the sun set, the park began to glow and felt much more like a Halloween night. Another fun difference between the first half of our visit and the second was that there was a concert near the entrance during the day and then a party with a DJ at night. My headband came in handy after sunset for sure!

We’ve been to a lot of theme parks across the country, and not only is Kentucky Kingdom in our proverbial backyard, it’s also one of the most affordable for families we’ve been to. Parking is only $15, admission is really reasonable, and the food and drinks are a great value. If you have toddlers or school-age children, a whole section of the park is dedicated just to them. If you have older kids like our teens, the more intense thrill rides are plentiful. It’s even perfect for a date night, which we made it into while the teenagers set off on their mission to ride every attraction at Kentucky Kingdom in one day. The hubby and I had fun taking pictures, driving the old Fords, riding the Himalaya, and doing the 5D Cinema. What will you and your family do when you go this month?!

Use code LOUISVILLEMOM35 for admission and unlimited FREE soft drinks for only $34.99 per person!
