nfl spring flag football in louisvilleDid you know there are more options for your kids to play football than just tackle?! There certainly are, and we’re lucky enough to have NFL FLAG right here in Indiana and Kentucky. NFL FLAG’s no-contact rule and team-oriented environment make it easy for kids to come together, learn football fundamentals, and most importantly—have lots of fun! Plus, it’s convenient with teams meeting just once per week. Their Spring league is a 7-practice/6-game season held on Sundays. Register by February 25th (for Indiana locations) or March 3rd (for Kentucky locations) to secure your spot!

HOW TO PLAY

More kids are playing flag football than ever before, and we can see why – it’s engaging, inclusive, and ridiculously fun. The best part is, anyone can learn to play flag football. You don’t need a certain build, skill set, or prior experience, and both girls and boys can sign up to play!

The most important rule in flag football is that there’s no contact allowed, including tackling, diving, blocking, screening or fumbles. Instead of physically tackling an opponent to the ground, players wear flags that hang along their sides by a belt. Defenders “tackle” the ball-carrier by removing one or both of their flags.

Don’t just take it from us or our friends at NFL FLAG… See what some of the families in the Vikings Flag Football League think about the organization!

My friends can’t say enough about how wonderful this league is. We are signing our daughter up for the fall! And, I can’t wait to see her play. It is one of the few places that girls can participate, and we are so excited. – Heather T.

We love the league because they really focus on having fun and developing a love for the sport! With these young kids there is no need to become super competitive. Just develop a desire to play as well as skills. The competitive leagues shouldn’t start until they are teenagers in my opinion. Our son played his first season this past spring and looks forward to fall! – Jennifer V.

My son loved [NFL FLAG], and his coaches were very good. Just love, love this program!! – Israel M.
