A Charcuterie Christmas

a charcuterie christmasIt’s going to be a charcuterie Christmas this year! My late brother-in-law made me the most amazing charcuterie board. Several years ago, my sister-in-law and I were talking about how expensive they were and her husband knows how frugal I am, so he made me one. I am confident in writing that my charcuterie board is better than yours. 😉

It is amazing and came with a humorous letter with care instructions and the little antidote that he knew charcuterie boards are just aiding in the adult Lunchable trend. That charcuterie board is one of my most treasured gifts and dons my kitchen table as the centerpiece, often littered with Legos and mail and any item that we don’t want to misplace on the table.

I’ve decided that this year we will use it for Christmas. I have been thinking of all of the types of charcuterie boards I could make, and I think I could use it just about every day in December.

Charcuterie board ideas, let me count the ways I can use you –

  1. Hot chocolate charcuterie board filled with mugs, hot chocolate, and mix-ins for the hot beverage.
  2. Meat and cheese charcuterie: your typical cut-up meat and cheese with crackers
  3. Apple slice charcuterie board with all sorts of dips for the apples, both hot and cold
  4. Christmas cookie Charcuterie board (you get the idea) loaded with your favorite holiday cookies
  5. Veggie charcuterie board with various dips and only your favorite veggies
  6. Nacho charcuterie board with chips and all types of toppings and dips for those chips

I think you get the idea… if you can eat it, you can charcuterie it!

What creative yummy food would you make for a charcuterie board?

I am a Buckeye by birth, but LOVE Louisville. We have cheered for those Louisville Cardinals for a few years when my stepdaughter played basketball in Louisville and fell in love with the city! I live in Ohio with my husband Tony. Together we have 6 kids, Joe, and his wife Allison, Austin, and his wife Hannah, Sydney and her husband Hayden, Andrew and his wife Lauren and our littles, Max and Eli. Did I mention we are a little nuts starting over with this parenting thing when we are 45+? We are officially a Tiki and Jeep (our version of Grandma and Grandpa) since May of 2022 and have 2 grandsons with a 3rd on the. My husband and I are both ministers, and we get to work together in a local church. We were both married before and brought our families together in 2010. After a few years of marriage, we felt God's leading for us to adopt. We added Max to our family in 2014 and Eli joined us in 2017, our quiver is officially full! Blending our family has been an adventure! Add some ex-spouses and two birth mommas and we have ourselves a crazy crew! Coffee is my love language. The beach is my happy place and I long to have my toes in the sand.
